Cryogenic Material Properties Calculators
This page provides a few calculator tools for richer inspection of the data contained in the Cryogenic Material Property Database. Please use the buttons below to explore the various capabilities:
Property Graphing and Integrating Tool
Credit:
- Calculator originally designed by Arya D. Keni (2018 NIST Associate; Aditya Birla World Academy, Mumbai, India; Present address (2020): Penn State University, USA)
- Implemented and integrated by Joshua Taillon (NIST Office of Data and Informatics )
The following calculator will compute (from the material property database) the specified cryogenic property for a given material over a range of temperatures, display the resulting graph, and download the data as a comma-separated values file. The integral of the property values over the specified temperature interval is also displayed. The resulting graph can be saved using the button beneath the graph.
Please be sure to enter temperature values only within the specified range for each material and property combination. Values calculated outside the range will be inaccurate, as the data cannot be reliably extrapolated.
- The number of decimal places output is only as accurate as the underlying data. Do not rely on this output for enhanced precision.
- Experimental data may have a higher uncertainty, so please adhere to the specified uncertainty in the dropdown list for each material.
- For the graphs displayed on this page, the black dotted lines indicate the upper and lower limits for a property value based on the uncertainty of the curve fit to the experimental data, while the blue line depicts the recommended values.
- The trapezoidal method by step length is used to calculate the integrals in this calculator
- Units for the integrated values will be the units of the selected property (see the table), multiplied by K.
Instructions
Please select the material and property of interest from the dropdown menu and enter the temperature range/increment level (in K) within mentioned range. Pressing the Enter key or clicking the Calculate button will submit the form:
