Solid-Liquid Equilibria (SLE): Property Name & Phase Formats

The example shows VLE data of various types for (naphthalene + biphenyl). Property Names are written out explicitly for Phase boundary pressure and Mole fraction (i.e., composition).

SLE (in the figure) indicates the general type of phase equilibrium data displayed. Property Phases are listed below the property name and are interpretted as follows:

Property: SLE Temperature

  • Comp2-C L (X1/L, P): The solid-liquid equilibrium temperature of crystal of pure component 2 (biphenyl) in equilibrium with liquid phase L, expressed as a function of the mole fraction of component 1 (naphthalene) in the liquid phase L and pressure P.
  • Comp1-C L (X1/L, P): The solid-liquid equilibrium temperature of crystal of pure component 1 (naphthalene) in equilibrium with liquid phase L, expressed as a function of the mole fraction of component 1 (naphthalene) in the liquid phase L and pressure P.
