NIST Alloy Data Field Descriptions

Data Set Identifier	A unique data identifier used by TRC; please note this identifier is not intended to be persistent or universal

Atmosphere	The atmospheric composition in the testing environment

Crucible	The crucible/specimen holder material used during the experiment

Property	The property measured during experiment (may include reference temperature, reference pressure, etc.)

Variable	Conditions during testing (pressure, temperature, composition, etc.)

Phases	Phases observed during measurement.(Condensed = solid(s) and/or liquid(s), crystal = definite crystalline structure)

Specimen Initial State Description	Description of initial materials used in experiment -- purity, method for purity measurement, geometry of specimen. This may include multiple components for alloys. Note if % is not stated as wt. or at. %, it was not stated in the original source material.

Specimen History	Description of processing history of specimen(s).

Specimen Impurity	Stated impurities for specimen (as indicated in original document, if % is not wt. or at. % it was not stated in document)

Properties	The property measured during the experiment (may include reference T, p, etc.)

Numeric Variables	Condition(s) during testing (pressure, temperature, composition, etc.)

Non-numeric Variables	Used to describe aspects of a system that change during over an experiment that cannot be represented with a number. Examples include phase description and generically defined heating rates (- indicates cooling, + heating)

Constraints	Conditions held constant during the experiment
