ABSTRACT
The density, viscosity, and vapor pressure for binary mixtures of tricyclo [5.2.1.02.6] decane (JP-10), a highenergy density hydrocarbon fuel, with diethyl carbonate are presented. Excess volume, Vm E , and viscosity deviation, Ac, for the binary mixtures have been calculated. Positive values of Vm E , negative values of Ac, and positive deviations from Raoult s law for the vapor pressures are observed. The deviation results are discussed in terms of the changes of molecular interactions in the mixtures, and they are fitted with the Redlich-Kister equation. The viscosities have also been correlated with several semiempirical equations. These physical property data and calculations provide valuable information on the development and application of new high-energy density hydrocarbon fuels.
