ABSTRACT
The solubility of methane in propylene carbonate was measured at the temperatures (244.26, 248.14, 255.37.37, 266.48, 273.15, 298.15, 333.15, and 373.15) K. Pressures ranged from (101 to 11200) kPa. The Peng Robinson equation of state was used to correlate the data over the full temperature and pressure range. A linearly temperature dependent binary interaction parameter was found to correlate the experimental data the best. The correlation reproduces the experimental data with an overall average percent deviation in the mole fraction of 6.9 %. The Krichevsky Ilinskaya equation combined with the Peng Robinson equation of state was used to obtain Henry s constants of methane in propylene carbonate.
