ABSTRACT
New experimental data on gas solubility of hydrofluorocarbons (fluoromethane, difluoromethane, trifluoromethane) and tetrafluoromethane in halobenzene solvents (fluorobenzene, chlorobenzene, and bromobenzene) have been determined, using a volumetric method with an automated apparatus in the temperature range 288 K to 308 K and at atmospheric pressure. A qualitatively interpretation has been made about the intermolecular interactions between solute and solvent with the aim to justify the data obtained. The solubility data were correlated with Soave Redlich Kwong equation of state type coupled with van der Waals one-fluid mixing rules. Satisfactory results were obtained.
