ABSTRACT
The solubility of 2-chloro-4-ethylamino-6-isopropylamino-1,3,5-triazine (atrazine) in methanol, ethanol, 1-propanol, 2-propanol, 1-butanol, and ethyl acetate was measured at the temperature range from (283 to 343) K under atmospheric pressure. The solubilities of atrazine in these organic solvent increased with temperature and decreased with solvent polarity. A semiempirical equation was found to provide an accurate mathematical representation of the experimental data. Several models, including the Scatchard-Hildebr, UNIQUAC and NRTL models were applied to correlate the experimental solubility data. These models can successfully describe the solubility of atrazine in the selected organic solvents. Moreover, the dissolution enthalpy and entropy of atrazine were determined with van't Hoff plots.
