ABSTRACT
The densities of the mixtures of 1-butanol with 1-hexene were measured at four different temperatures, from (273.15 to 333.15) K in the pressure range (0.1 to 50) MPa, as well as the density of the 1-hexene was measured in the range (0.1 to 70) MPa at the same range of temperatures. A high-pressure vibrating tube densimeter has been used for these measurements. The experimental data were fitted with the empirical Tammann Tait equation. In addition, the isobaric heat capacities were measured at T = 293.15 K and T = 313.15 K and the pressure range (0.1 to 25) MPa for the mixtures and for 1-hexene. These values were obtained using a noncommercial flow calorimeter. A positive deviation from the ideality is observed for the mixture through the calculated excess heat capacities. Additionally, the viscosity measurements, used for the correction of the experimental heat capacities, were completed in a Stabinger viscometer at ambient pressure.
