ABSTRACT
Densities and viscosities for binary mixtures of diethylene glycol with 2-propanol up to 2-heptanol were measured at various temperatures and ambient pressure. From experimental data, excess molar volumes VmE and viscosity deviations ?? were calculated and correlated by the Redlich Kister equation to obtain the binary coefficients and the standard deviations. Excess molar volumes, VmE, are negative for mixtures of diethylene glycol with 2-propanol up to 2-pentanol and positive for mixtures of 2-hexanol and 2-heptanol. The Peng Robinson Stryjek Vera (PRSV) equation of state (EOS) was used to predict the densities and viscosities of the studied mixtures.
