Volumetric Behavior on Interactions of a-Amino Acids with Sodium Acetate, Potassium Acetate, and Calcium Acetate in Aqueous Solutions

ABSTRACT
The apparent molar volumes (VF) of l-lysine monohydrochloride, l-histidine, and l-arginine in water and in aqueous of sodium acetate, potassium acetate, and calcium acetate solutions have been determined at temperatures from (303.15 to 323.15) K from density measurements. The partial molar volumes at infinite dilution (Vo2) obtained from VF data have been used to calculate the transfer volume (?Vtr) of amino acids in water and in the presence of the cosolutes at different temperatures. These parameters have been discussed in terms of various interactions between the a-amino acids and organic salts in these solutions. The dehydration effect of sodium, potassium, and calcium acetates has also been discussed.
