ABSTRACT
Vapor-liquid equilibria are reported for the following seven binary systems: ethylene oxide + 2-methylpropane; acetophenone + phenol; cis-1,3-dichloropropene + 1,2-dichloropropane; 1,5-hexadiene + allyl chloride; isopropyl acetate + acetonitrile; vinyl chloride + methyl chloride; and 1,4-butanediol + c-butyrolactone. The system pressure and temperature were measured at several charge compositions along two or three isotherms for the first six systems and along one isotherm for the seventh system. Equilibrium vapor- and liquid-phase compositions were derived from the PTx data using the Soave equation of state to represent the vapor phase and the Wilson or the Redlich-Kister activity coefficient model to represent the liquid phase. Additional vapor-liquid equilibrium studies were performed on the 1,4-butanediol + c-butyrolactone system at six compositions by directly analyzing samples that were withdrawn from the equilibrium vapor and liquid phases.
