Solubility and Thermodynamic Modeling of Sulfanilamide in 12 Mono Solvents and 4 Binary Solvent Mixtures from 278.15 to 318.15 K
The equilibrium solubility of sulfanilamide is determined in twelve mono solvents and four binary solvent mixtures with temperatures ranging from T = 278.15 K to 318.15 K. Sulfanilamide solubility increases with increasing temperature in all pure solvents, binary mixtures; increases with increase in acetone mass fraction and temperature. Solubility of sulfanilamide in pure solvents is highest in Acetone and least in Toluene. The solubility with other solvents is toluene less than ethyl acetate less than 1 octanol less than water less than benzene less than 1 butanol less than 2 butanol less than 2 propanol less than 1 propanol less than ethanol less than methanol less than acetone. The experimental solubility in pure solvents can be well correlated by several thermodynamic models such as Modified Apelblat model, eh equation, Van t Hoff model; simultaneously, the binary solvent mixtures can be well correlated with the models such as Jouyban Acree model, van tHoff Jouyban Acree model, Apelblat Jouyban Acree model and CNIBS/R K model.
