ABSTRACT
In this study, the heat of absorption of CO2 in aqueous benzylamine (BZA), N-(2aminoethanolamine (AEEA) and their blends were measured using an automated reaction calorimeter in the temperature range of (303.15 to 343.15) K. The experimental concentrations of aqueous BZA, AEEA and their blends were in the range of (0.47 to 2.83) mol.kg-1, (0.48 to 2.91) mol.kg-1, (1.41mol BZA+1.45mol AEEA).kg-1 and (1.88mol BZA+0.97mol AEEA).kg-1 respectively. The heat capacity of the unloaded aqueous BZA, AEEA and (BZA+AEEA) systems were also measured in similar temperature and concentration ranges as for heat of absorption. The experimental heat of absorption of CO2 was presented as a function of CO2 loading, temperature and amine concentration.
