ABSTRACT
The solubility of 2-cyanoacetamide in N,N-dimethylformamide, acetone, acetonitrile, methanol, methyl acetate, tetrahydrofuran, ethanol, ethyl acetate, n-propanol, n-butanol, trichloromethane, dichloromethane, 1,4-dioxane and water was measured by a laser dynamic method under atmospheric pressure at temperatures ranging from (273.15 - 318.15)K. The solubility order of 2-cyanoacetamide in selected solvents was N,N-dimethylformamide greater than acetone greater than water greater than acetonitrile greater than methanol greater than methyl acetate greater than 1,4-dioxane greater than tetrahydrofuran greater than ethanol greater than ethyl acetate greater than n-propanol greater than n-butanol greater than trichloromethane greater than dichloromethane. The modified Apelblat equation, h equation, NRTL model equation, and Wilson model were used to correlate the experimental solubility data. The calculated solubility values by the modified Apelblat agree well with the experimental values, comparing with other models. The values of mixG, mixS, mixH, activity coefficient( 1 ) and reduced excess enthalpy( H1E , ) were obtained based on the Wilson model.
