Isobaric Vapor-Liquid Phase Equilibrium Measurements for Allyl Alcohol with Chloroform, Ethyl Acetate, and Methyl Propionate at 101.3 kPa

ABSTRACT
For separation of the azeotrope allyl alcohol and water by azeotropic distillation, chloroform, ethyl acetate and methyl propionate were selected as the azeotropic agents. In this work, the vapor-liquid phase equilibrium (VLE) data for the binary systems (allyl alcohol + chloroform / ethyl acetate / methyl propionate) were measured at 101.3 kPa by a modified Rose still. The VLE experimental data were checked by Herington and van Ness methods to verify the thermodynamic consistency. Meanwhile, three thermodynamic models NRTL, UNIQUAC and Wilson were adopted to correlate the experimental data and the binary interaction parameters of the three models were regressed. The values of root-mean-square deviation show that the experimental data were well correlated by three models.
