Solid-Liquid Equilibria and Pitzer Model Simulation of the SrCl2-NH4Cl-MgCl2-H2O Quaternary System at T = 298 K

ABSTRACT
The solid-liquid equilibria data of aqueous SrCl2-NH4Cl-MgCl2-H2O quaternary system at T=298 K were measured. Results shows that there are two three-salt co-saturation invariant point, and four crystallization regions corresponding to one single salt ammonium chloride (NH4Cl), two hydrate salts bischofite (MgCl2*6H2O), strontium chloride hexahydrate (SrCl2*6H2O), and one double salt ammonium carnallite (NH4Cl*MgCl2*6H2O), five univariant curves in the phase diagram.
