ABSTRACT
Hygrometric measurements were made for {y Na2SO4 + (1-y) K2SO4}(aq) solutions for different ionic-strength fractions of Na2SO4 with y= 0.2, 0.5 and 0.8 at the temperature 298.15 K. Measurements extend from total molalities of 0.2 mol.kg-1 to about saturation. The obtained data allow the deduction of new thermodynamic parameters. From these measurements, the new Pitzer mixing ionic parameters are determined and used to predict the solute activity coefficients in the mixture. The obtained results are used to calculate the excess Gibbs energy at total molalities for ionic-strength fractions y.
