Density, Viscosity and N2O solubility of Aqueous 2- (methylamino)ethanol Solution

ABSTRACT
In the present work, density and viscosity of 2-(methylamino)ethanol (MAE) solution were measured over the temperature range 293.15 to 323.15 K at different molality (1.06, 2.13, 3.19, 4.25) mol*kg-1 of solvents and CO2 loading varying between 0 and 0.677 mole CO2 / mole MAE. The physical solubility of N2O in aqueous MAE solution was measured in a stirred cell reactor over the temperature range of 289.3 to 348.2 K with total mass fraction w1 = (0.075, 0.15, 0.225, 0.30, 0.375, 0.45, 0.60, 0.75, 1). The experimental density data for both CO2 loaded and unloaded aqueous MAE solutions were fitted by Redlich-Kister equation. The Weiland s model was used to correlate the viscosity data of aqueous MAE solution. Finally, N2O solubility data were correlated by using an empirical polynomial model, and compared with both the semi-empirical model and Redlich-Kister equation.
