Study of intermolecular interactions in binary mixtures of 2-(dimethylamino)ethanol with methanol and ethanol at various temperatures

ABSTRACT
The densities, and ultrasonic speeds, u, of the binary mixtures of 2-(dimethylamino)ethanol (DMAE) with methanol/ethanol, including those of pure liquids, over the entire composition range were measured at 298.15, 308.15 and 318.15 K. From the experimental data, the excess molar volume, , excess isentropic compressibility, , excess intermolecular free length, , excess ultrasonic speed, , excess acoustic impedance, and excess molar isentropic compressibility, , have been calculated. The excess partial molar volumes, and and excess partial molar isentropic compressibilities, and over the whole composition range; and partial molar volumes, and , partial molar isentropic compressibilities, and , excess partial molar volumes, and , and excess partial molar isentropic compressibilities, and at infinite dilution have also been calculated. The variations of these parameters with composition and temperature are discussed in terms of intermolecular interactions. The IR spectra of these mixtures have also been recorded at 298.15 K.
