ABSTRACT
Density and viscosity were measured for the binary mixtures of cefodizime sodium + water and theternary mixtures of cefodizime sodium + 0.9 mass % normal saline at the temperatures (278.15, 283.15,288.15, 293.15, 298.15, 303.15, 308.15, and 313.15) K and at atmospheric pressure. The dependenceof density and viscosity on temperature and concentration has been correlated with V T F equation. From the experimental data, apparent molar volumes, standard partial molar volumes, relativechanges in viscosity, and the viscosity B-coefficient of cefodizime sodium were calculated. The resultsare used to analyze the nature of solute solute. Using the Helper equation and the Jones Dole equation, solute solvent interactions and structure breaking effect of cefodizime sodium have been discussed. Theresults have been interpreted in terms of solute solvent and solute solute interactions and structuremaking/breaking ability of solute in the aqueous solution.
