ENTHALPIES OF SOLUTION OF METHYLCALIX[4]RESORCINARENE IN NON-AQUEOUS SOLVENTS AS A FUNCTION OF CONCENTRATION AND TEMPERATURE

ABSTRACT
Enthalpies of solution of 2,8,14,20-tetramethyl-4,6,10,12,16,18,22,24- octahidroxyresorci[4]arene in methanol, ethanol and propanol as a function of molal concentration at (288.15, 298.15 and 308.15) K were measured calorimetrically. The enthalpies of solvation are estimated. Using propanol as the referent solvent, transfer properties to other alcohols are calculated. The temperature dependence of the enthalpy of solution at infinite dilution was also obtained. The data are interpreted in terms of solute-solvent interactions.
