ABSTRACT
Enthalpies of solution of 1-ethyl-3-methyl-imidazolium chloride and anhydrous aluminum chloride in molten mixtures of both substances were determined. Measurements were done at T = 323.15 K varying the aluminum chloride content of the melt in the mole fraction range 0.23 less than x(AlCl3) less than 0.58. Enthalpies of solution of aluminum chloride were measured additionally at T = 363.15 K in the mole fraction range 0 less than x(AlCl3) less than 0.46 with the aim to evaluate the temperature dependence of the enthalpy of solution of AlCl3.
