ABSTRACT
The densities of binary mixtures of {isoamyl acetate + alcohols (methanol, ethanol, 1-propanol, 2-propanol, 1-butanol, and 2-butanol)}, including those of pure liquids, over the entire composition range were measured at temperatures (293.15 to 333.15) K and atmospheric pressure by means of a vibrating-tube densimeter. The excess molar volume, VE_m, thermal expansion coefficients and their excess values were calculated from density data. The VE_m values are positive over the entire range of composition and temperature and become more positive with increasing temperature for all of the mixtures except for the (isoamyl acetate + methanol) mixture. The VE_m values were correlated by Redlich-Kister equation and the extended real associated solution (ERAS) model was used for describing VE_m values at T = 303.15 K.
