Liquid-liquid phase diagrams of poly(ethylene glycol) and aromatic hydrocarbons

ABSTRACT
A group of liquid-liquid phase diagrams of low molar weight poly(ethylene glycol), PEG, and aromatic hydrocarbons was obtained. The immiscibility regions change significantly when the molar weight of PEG or the alkyl groups of the aromatic molecule was changed. The results are qualitatively discussed by considering the Hildebrand solubility parameters of the components.
