ABSTRACT
Solubilities of CO, H2, N2, O2 and CO2 in novel alcamines ionic liquids (ILs) of 2-[2-hydroxyethyl (methyl) amino] ethanol chloride (MDEACl) were investigated at temperature ranging from 313.15 to 333.15 K and pressure ranging from 0 to 8.62 MPa. It was shown that the solubilities of gases increased with the increasing of pressure while decreased with the increasing of temperature. Comparing the solubilities of CO, H2, N2 and O2 with that of CO2 in MDEACl, it indicates that the solubilities of these four gases are much lower than that of CO2. This means MDEACl may be used as a potential solvent for CO2 capture from mixed gases. The solublilities were correlated by the Krichevisky-Kasarnovsky equation and the Henry's constants and partial molar volumes of gases were obtained. Additionally, the standard Gibbs free energy, standard enthalpy and standard entropy of gases (CO, H2, N2 and O2) were also investigated.
