ABSTRACT
A dynamic recirculating still was employed to measure isobaric vapour liquid equilibrium at the pressures of 40.00 and 101.33 kPa for binary systems containing the cyclic ethers: tetrahydrofuran, tetrahydropyran, 1,3-dioxolane or 1,4-dioxane and 1-chlorohexane. The experimental data were tested for thermodynamic consistency, the calculated activity coefficients have been correlated using the Wilson, NRTL and UNIQUAC equations. Finally, predictions with the UNIFAC group contribution method were obtained and compared with the experimental results.
